The mission of Virtus: To educate and empower everyone (individually and collectively) to ensure optimal safe environments for children and the vulnerable.
Virtus programs are designed to help prevent wrongdoing and promote "rightdoing" within organizations. The VIRTUS programs empower organizations and people to take action as safe adults and improve the lives of everyone with whom they interact within the Church and other organizations.
The VIRTUS programs were created in 1998 by The National Catholic Risk Retention Group, Inc. (National Catholic). Since its inception, the VIRTUS programs continue to evolve to go above and beyond the needs of organizations to safeguard ministries and people.
Volunteerism is a critical component in Catholic education. With strong volunteerism, we are able to provide all of the needed services and activities that create a quality, affordable, faith-based education for our children. The generosity of time and talent of our parent/guardian volunteers is needed more than ever! Parents are encouraged to volunteer their services in accordance with their interests and school needs. Volunteers must sign in and out at the School Office.
In accordance with diocesan policy, volunteers helping in certain capacities must attend VIRTUS training and remain current on the refresher training.
