Mission Statement

Portsmouth Catholic Regional School, an extension of the Roman Catholic Church with the parishes in Southside Hampton Roads, exists to continue the century long tradition of educating students in the Catholic Faith. PCRS welcomes families of all faiths who accept the mission and philosophies of PCRS. The school is dedicated to nurturing all of the students in Pre-K3 through 8th grade to meet high academic standards and to develop a strong sense of Christian stewardship. Through a Christ-centered education our students become compassionate leaders utilizing creativity, problem solving and critical thinking skills.

The philosophy of Portsmouth Catholic Regional School is to assist parents in the faith formation and development of their children by:

  • A strong commitment to technology and its positive use in society
  • Creating a strong Christ-like community among students, families and staff, where children are nurtured and challenged to achieve their full potential in the faith community
  • Providing a diversified educational program, committed to academic excellence in an innovative 21st century learning environment which values the uniqueness of each student. The teaching of Catholic doctrine and integration of faith into everyday life is the core of the curriculum.
  • Encouraging students and families to participate in liturgies, sacraments, activities and service projects offered by our parishes and school who serve our local and global communities.
These values of faith, knowledge, and servant leadership, nurtured by a staff dedicated to teach as Jesus did, encourage our students to respond personally to the call, challenges and commitment of the Christian way of life in the world today and in the future.

Portsmouth Catholic Regional School will be the premier Catholic educational center of choice, committed to innovative learning through state of the art technology.  Students learn how to use technology as a positive tool to “make disciples of all nations.” Matthew 28:19
