Volunteer Hours

Parent Service Hour Requirements

Working together helps to provide the excellent programs for the students here at Portsmouth Catholic. Service is a critical component in Catholic education. With strong volunteerism, we are able to provide all of the needed services and activities that create the quality, affordable, faith-based education for our children.

Portsmouth Catholic Regional School requires 30 hours of service a year per family including Bingo volunteer sessions. These hours can be completed in school, working at school activities, at home, and at the Bingo Hall. Many opportunities are available throughout the year. All of the time and talent that is shared by Portsmouth Catholic Regional School families is truly appreciated by the school. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends can earn hours for your family. Families who do not fulfill the requirements will be assessed a fee.

Attend a Virtus Training Session

The Catholic Diocese of Richmond provides training called, “Protecting God’s Children.” The National Catholic Risk Retention Group, Inc. developed this course and the Dioceses of Richmond has required all adults that supervise children at Portsmouth Catholic Regional School to take this training. All employees and volunteers must take the Virtus training. To register for this one time training go to www.virtusonline.org.
