According to the US Department of Education, “it’s more important than ever for our youth to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to solve tough problems, gather and evaluate evidence, and make sense of information.” The identified knowledge and skills are part of an integrated curriculum known as STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math). “The integration of Religion and the Arts into STEM content areas merges 21st century teaching and learning with the timeless truths of faith and beauty in all of the subject areas,” according to the NCEA.
