Join Our Portsmouth Catholic Family

Admission Process

Families are invited to begin with a tour of our school.  We have regularly scheduled tours each week on Thursdays at 9:30am and 11:00am.  If that is not convenient, we will be happy to schedule a personal tour, just contact us.

Once you have prepared your admissions packet, we will then schedule your Family Interview.  This is a mutual interview where we learn the needs of your child and you understand the mission, philosophy, and vision of Portsmouth Catholic.  We typically plan about 75 minutes for this time to begin our collaboration.

In addition, prospective students are invited to come and shadow future classmates for a half day.

Testing will be scheduled for prospective students so that PCRS can best asses the needs of your child.  Assessments may include Math, Reading, and Writing.  These assessments can be scheduled on the same day your child shadows their future classmates.  Assessments can take up to 2 hours.

Requirements include:

Health Records – Birth Certificate (original) – Baptismal Certificate (Catholic applicants only) – Social Security Card – Report Card from previous school – Standardized Test Results – Record of IEP

Students entering Pre-Kindergarten 3 must be three (3) years of age by September 30th. Students entering Pre-Kindergarten 4 must be four (4) years of age by September 30th. Students entering Kindergarten must be five (5) years of age by September 30th.

Students applying for admission in Grades 1-8 must present a copy of the current report card and standardized test results. These will be reviewed to determine whether the program at Portsmouth Catholic Regional School will meet the educational needs of the students. An interview with the student may be part of the admission process as well as placement assessments.
